What to do when you feel like unmotivated or procrastinating.
Hello beautiful family, We hope y’all doing well. Welcome back to our blog, this is our little space where we love to share what we have learned and hope it inspires someone else.
These last few days, I was dealing with this feeling of not being motivated to do anything, even for the things I’m passionate about. Which leads me to think that I’m lazy and if you grew up like me in a house where they talk about laziness as an illness😂, well it will make you panic and start to think how can-I stop being lazy before it gets worse😅. So I found myself on YouTube trying to figure out how to stop it and for me to start being productive again.
So,I learned a lot of things and decided to share these tips with you because these habits are changing my life and I hope it is going to be the same for you too.
Do it anyway:
Sometimes I have to do what I'm supposed to do anyway because the feelings are temporary. Moreover, we cannot rely simply on doing things according to how we feel and in this case, we must tap into the power of discipline. Discipline should show up in times when you don't feel like doing it, but because you know the “importance” or “why” this and that need to be done.
Release our sense of control:
When I deal with this situation I expect too much of myself and now I get frustrated because I am not able to present myself as I wanted or people around me have high expectations and this can put a lot of pressure on me especially when their expectations concern Igicaniro. Which makes me want to have a sense of control, but the reality is, I can't handle it. It's impossible for me. I don't have the strength to carry that weight. So, if you are like me, I suggest that you let go of that feeling of control over everything and focus only on what is going well, and pay your attention to what is going right. Funny how these things aren't that hard, but yet we still struggle with it and keep doing the wrong things, to focus on what is not in our control.
Shifting my thoughts on other things away from my situation helps to heal and to realize that in fact I am also doing great things and remembering that it is not forever, in life we all have ups and downs. I just have to be patient because that too will pass. Emotions and feelings are always passing , they were never meant to stay.
Clean up your space:
Small habits help me to set the day well, for example to make my bed when I wake up, to arrange my room etc..
Living in a clean environment stimulates our mind to be productive. For example, when I organize my bedroom or workplace, it is as if my brain is doing the same with my thoughts and bring clarity to my mind.
Know your priorities:
I’m learning to always break down my work into small steps. This is how I practice it: I draw a table and divide the tasks into four parts.(1. Important and urgent, 2. Important and not urgent, 3. Urgent but not important, 4. Not important and not urgent)
They help me to relieve that stress of « oh my goodness I have a lot to do and I don’t know where to start 😥 »
Another thing is I've realized that most of the time, the reason I feel unmotivated doing anything is because I'm exhausted from trying to do it all at the same time. Drawing the board helps me remember where I should put more energy (Important tasks but not urgent! And Urgent but not important!) And where I don't need it because if I don't, nothing wrong or bad will not happen to me or to others.

Playlists are everything:
When I see that today is that kind of day in which I don't have everything all together, I like to create an atmosphere that allows me to move forward, and the music helps me to do that, I make a playlist of songs I know that can inspire me to keep moving forward no matter what, for me is putting on worship music and reminding me of God's promises.

Fam, feeling unmotivated or unwilling to do anything is normal , don't be hard on yourself, be gentle on yourself when you are not productive, practice self forgiveness if you don't do anything right , remember that we are human beings and not human doing… So try to understand what your body is communicating when you feel like this, maybe you will need to rest and heal or you will need to practice more discipline in certain areas of your life so that it can stop affecting your productivity.
In conclusion , I would like to know what are your tips that help you deal with moments of feeling unmotivated .
