Today we are talking about Entrepreneurship(the activity of setting up a business or businesses, taking on financial risks in the hope of profit ).
Well, the reason why we chose to talk about this; we hope to bring in a solution to what we see nowadays,where there's a lack of opportunities for many of us.
You go to school, get the highest degree and still struggle to get your dream job. There are smart and talented people lacking opportunities and that’s a real problem. It’s not like long ago where our parents could go to school, get a good education and a great job as well. And we can’t always be blaming governments and say they have to solve the problem because the reality is,..it’s not going to happen ,the solution has to come from us as individuals.
So our goal is after reading this you can have an idea on how you can find out which kind of business you can launch and also know the important things you need to be aware of ,so that you can be successful with your business. This content is to inspire someone to be a job instead of looking for a job, it is about hiring yourself and creating your own opportunities, your own business or company and becoming the CEO of yourself.

How to build your Idea & your Character
1.What is your uniqueness? :
Before you get to start you need to know yourself , you have to know first what you're gifted, to know the things you do naturally without any effort for example I remember talking to a friend about the blog before launching it and she was giving me good advices like the name of the blog , it’s design etc.. Actually she was giving me good strategies and “I was like!? girl you should do business on helping new brands when they want to launch their services/products ”, you know some people are gifted on how to organize things, others thinking about strategies but they don’t see it as a gift because the world show us people who are gifted are those who can sing, act or any other great talent but that’s not true because everybody is gifted , what you need to know is what is your gift ?
After that, you have to write down your interests or passions so that you may combine with what makes you unique to create your business idea. Those two things will help you to see your audience, like who are they? I'm going to buy my product or service.
Because if you know your audience now you can see which solution you’re going to bring, cause business is not all about earning money and becoming a boss but includes solving a problem that your audience may be dealing with ! The statistics say that people who go on business because they want money onlyπ° are apt to go out of business 80 % of the time.π³
So make sure what you create with your personality and interests or passions bring up a SOLUTION to a problem.
2. Leadership
To own a business requires having good skills in leadership, learning how to have good influence in the way you’re carrying the vision of the business so that people can trust you and being a person who is good at solving challenges , so that you can start training yourself by solving the small ones that you meet in your daily life.
So please go make a research about how to be great leaders, read books and watch some videos about it , because this will help you to be someone who is excellent in his or her domain because you have to be a constant learner so that you don’t settle for less.
Also be that kind of leader who is not trying to compare himself /herself to others ; in that game of comparing yourself to others I’m sure you gonna lose because we can’t all of us have the same start , for example someone who can start a business in US and another one in Burundi, they can’t have the same opportunities of success but it doesn’t mean at the end everybody can not win, just stay focused on your goals.
Last thing is, learn how to accept critics , but wait a minute. I'm not saying you should listen to everybody's critics , I meant the critics from people who love you and support your work ( Your support system)! For example, every time we release a post from Igicaniro’s blog ,the first messages We check are from people who support our work but are also always going to give us some criticism and yes sometimes it hurts but it’s worth it, because it helps us to keep becoming better in what we do .
3. Find people with diverse skills sets :
In entrepreneurship self awareness is so much needed in the way you have to know what you're good at and what are your weaknesses or what are the skills you lack in that business you want to start! (You need to keep evaluating yourself , because it’s never where we’re trying to go that it’s the problem. It is what you are willing to leave behind to get there. )
For example, do not feel like you need to start the business by yourself. A lot of times when we go into entrepreneurship we are just thinking like I want to be the owner and you’re thinking more about yourself than what you want to offer in your business. So if you have that cool idea but you don’t really know how you’re gonna take it from an idea to an actual business or product, you can team up with someone who may be good or specialize in that area you can not do, to have someone who is a cofounder can really help you get the business off the ground.
4. Relationship are your best resources:
How you treat people is very important because they are your best resources, you have to be careful. It is very necessary. You need to learn new skills on how to communicate with people, because there’s no guarantee that it will be somebody you like that is going to invest in your business, they won’t necessarily be your color and they may not have your theology but God may use them to bless you and invest in your work.
5. Timing:
It Is too sad to see people putting a lot of energy and money into something and it ends up being not successful because they didn’t take to see if it was the right time, like asking yourself this question: Can this business be successful in 2020 and even more years after this year ? Will it keep having customers? There’s this great example of Carols Sanders the owner of KFC. He started his business at the time that in the US women had just gone to work and families were used to home cooked meals. His business solved the problem that was there at that time. If he could start it today it’s not sure he could succeed because now people in the US are very concerned about eating healthy food and also now there are a lot of vegetarians.
Here the main point is to study your business plan, don't rush and try to start immediately. You might say I want to start small so no need to make a plan and that’s a huge error there⚠. Even if it is a small business; you have to learn how to do that plan where everything is well structured, so that you go for your business now , but also do not hold it back for a long time , if you can see facts that show you it is the right time to go for your business do it !
And a quick advice for people who want to start a business at this time to make media your priorities is necessary ; social media now is really helping in marketing strategy
6. Start simple:
Do not overwhelm your audience, start with one thing where you give them one option so that they can keep coming to your product. Yes can have many ideas about what you can offer to your audience but can chill and start with one thing and after you have built that trust and relationship with your audience , you can propose other things to your service.
We want to end this by encouraging people who maybe tried something but it didn’t work out the way they wanted, please remember the problem is never about the goal, but the way you approach it. Don’t give up; do it again ; again and again !! Just reevaluate your system and try to see what went wrong.
